That Alonso wreck was INTENSE!
Unfortunately even though it was a good race it's still another MB 1-2 :wtc:

Pretty much sums up my reaction to the race... Was pretty good and wasn't sure who was going to the win, but then still a MB 1-2 :hs:

P6 for Haas was an incredible debut for a new team. Puts Manor and all those new back marker teams over the years to shame.

Exactly...a fun race that somehow still ended in a MB 1-2.

Good for Haas, Renault looks to be headed in the right direction, Sauber is going to fold before the end of the year.

Go HAAS!

I'm just now actually watching the race instead of reading it on a live-feed.   My take-away are as follows...

Renault looks good and is fast...RB & Renault aren't being passed like they are being left behind.

Other than the wrong tire choice by Ferrari at the red-flag....the race pace of the Ferrari is on point with MB.  For the season, hopefully it'll actually be competitive...:x:

TR running the 15 Ferrari is really quick...they didn't have a bad motor last year at all.

RJ is becoming one of my most fave drivers, dragging a HAAS around to 6th place on their debut.  Seriously...from "Crashjean" to 6th on a debut new team. His stock has just jumped up majorly.

Renault is looking mighty quick too.  Finally..with some off-season development, the others are catching up to MB.  Reaffirms my belief that the token system was massively flawed.

Poor McHonda, lol.

So far...great start to the season....at least before the red flag, lol.

The team or the engine? Cause if the team then I don't think we watched the same race.

RBR looked pretty handy with the Renault engine though.

The engine.  First time I saw a Renault powered car at least match pace and not get walked on all over in the straights.

The vettel hambone chase was depressing.  No ground made up with DRS.  Again, could have been poor grip out of the last turn, but way more likely to still be a 100hp deficit. Hope I'm wrong.

I don't think the deficit is there anymore...at the beginning of the race, Vettel was pulling away.  If it weren't for the red flag, It could've been a Ferrari 1/2.

Maybe something to do with engine mapping.  I'm surprised we didn't get that graphic telling us how much fuel each driver had used throughout the race this time.  Also, Vettel's rear tires were pretty much shot which meant he was faster but his corner exit speed was crap, hence he couldn't pass Hamilton.

Me too, otherwise I'm not sure I can sit through another season of the Ham and Barbie show.

What worries me is it feels like Merc can basically spice up the show at will and still finish 1-2 every time. It's like they're sandbagging just enough each time you feel like F1 is getting predictable.

Geezus Christ...c'mon...

F1 is seriously a ship without a rudder :(  The GDPA's letter is spot-on - they are lacking solid leaderships.  And all these back and forth changes are diluting the core reasons of why we loved F1 in the first place.

Partially collapsed lung, I can see why the FIA medical didn't clear him to race.

Thinking out load - any reason to do a race by race thread? The way the past couple seasons have gone we rarely make it past page 2. Season thread ftw?

Yeah - makes sense - these will completely die if hambone rattles of 2 or 3 wins here.

Don't know what you're talking about? It's a Merc 1/2 in FP1 so far...

Also, this weekend my wife is going to love me... MotoGP, WSBK, F1, Supercross... it's going to be a race week :run:
