The Ferrari team has been forced to call off the shakedown of its new car due to the poor weather conditions at the Fiorano circuit.

Brazilian Felipe Massa was scheduled to give the new F10 its first run today after the car was unveiled in Maranello this morning.

However, the Italian circuit was covered with ice due to the low temperatures and Ferrari has been forced to postpone the run.

The team said it will carry out the shakedown as soon as the weather allows it.

don't expect on track pictures today

What is up with that nose and what's so special about it aero wise?

Damn, that's ugly, I've never been a fan of the white wings... and wow did they ever copy the RBR, I hope Newey came up with something that crushes that old design   :hay:

Yeah, no idea. Seems so narrow it wouldn't move that much air, must clean up flow for the rest of the car :dunno:

To think that this design is exactly the same one that they will show up to Bahrain with is absurd.

Looks like a high nosed zero keel design. My guess is to improve flow under and around the nosecone, at the cost of flow over the top. Makes sense because with the narrower front tires this year rear aero grip won't be as important as trying to optimize the car to make the front end stick.

Damn, I didn't know they had that much room in the rules to expand the wheelbase that much!

all the fuel has to fit somewhere :dunno:

also, looking at the front shots of the car, with the newey front bumps on the nose, and the way the side pods are shaped, looks like the car is designed to have 3 channels of air... one that goes in front of the driver into the airbox to the wing, and the two side pod channels, which seems to clean up the air/move it around the wing.... probably create a spinning vortex of air for more down force instead of just running into a wall of air....

Yeah, but I'd think they'd want to go slightly wider with the body than longer, but I'm no engineer...

wider = more air to push out of the way

Well, what I was meaning was where it narrows down, just go further up before it narrows, it looks like they have done that as well though now that I take another look.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the fact that the new cars aren't actually as bulky as I was expecting

I dont' think that's b/c of the gas tank - they fit KERS in without increasing the length of the car last year. But what do I know...I think that's there by design.

Are the cars limited by dimensions, or do they have to be a set length/width/height?

certain things have to be at a certain dimension and has to be located in certain areas...
if you watch the USF1 promo videos, you'll see some of the designs of the car working within "boxes". i'm guessing those are the maximum and minimum areas for pieces required by the FIA...

anyone want the rest of the Ferrari launch? or more specifically, any of these below you'd like in a larger size?

Jesus fuck that's a radical looking McLaren :dunno:

They seem to have taken a very different approach to their sidepod design compared to past designs
