I just don't recall any other track doing the lights like that, with a red at the end during a safety car period. Perhaps i just haven't been paying attention.

there was 1 instance of it this year.. cant remember where but everyone stopped and waited for the green

I foresee a grid place penalty for Hammy.

But I think the big damage has already been done by not getting points today.

unpredictable race again..lewis with newb mistake loved how ITV blamed mclaren for not warning lewis over pit radio instead of being lewis's mistake.....massa could have challenged for win if it wasn't retarded mistake with pits by ferrari again.......great win for robert but what the fuck is the deal with heidfeld all mad in the interviews "lets just say I didn't try too hard to hold robert" he is not even in wdc contention

Lot of damage... leapfrogged Hamilton in the pits, Kimi then might of had a chance to drive defensively the rest of the race and maybe just get back into 1st in the WDC by a thin margin, instead he's now 4th :noes:

I think that the team's faith has been w/ Bob lately (not undeservedly) and despite Nick having a decent race, he was passed in the pits by his teammate... something that could be arguably manufactured the team. He seems frustrated by this season all around.

Yeah Cubicle's been thoroughly outpacing Nick all season long, he earned any favoritism that he might have gotten this race. BMW's now gotta start being serious about their strategy - they've got the driver's WDC lead, and Nick has to man up about that and realize he's had a poor start, and do what's best for the team.

I think Nick is used to his #1 status.

Hoenstly, I don't see Kimi helping Masser, even if Phil was ahead in the WDC.

Hamilton penalised ten places for France
Sunday 8th June 2008

Lewis Hamilton has been given a 10-place grid penalty for the French GP after failing to pay attention to a red light in the pit lane in Sunday's Canadian race.

The punishment was handed out by FIA race stewards after they reviewed the incident in which Hamilton ran into the back of Raikkonen as the Ferrari driver was observing a red light in the pit lane on lap 18 of the race, which was eventually won by Robert Kubica.

Nico Rosberg of Williams was given the same 10-place drop on the grid after he ran into the back of Hamilton's McLaren Mercedes in the same incident.

Hamilton trails BMW's Kubica by four points in the Drivers' standings and will now face an even stiffer battle for points at Magny-Cours in two weeks' time.

I think it needs to be more harsh than that, but it's acceptable.

i'm a bit surprised it wasnt just called a 'racing incident' and forgotten by the fia marshals.

I wasn't even expecting a penalty, let alone a 10 place grid penalty.

Probably would of been a 'racing incident' if Hamilton did the same thing out on track (see: Kimi, last race  ), but I guess that since it was pit and safety car related, they are (as they should) be taking it more seriously.

Anyone miss me? lol

I found a F1 meet here in Dallas and we met up at a bar to watch the race... The crowd exploded when Hamilton ran into Raik. I'd love to hear what Hamilton and KR said to each other.

Glad Robert won tho!!
