Considering how many cars he took out, I think a 5 place grid penalty for Bottas is very lenient.

I guess the stewards felt that there were mitigating circumstances as the start was the first time they drove in the wet all weekend.

Hammy looked ready to pass out at the end of that race, was really hoping Seb could get by Ocon, but he withstood the pressure and I'm quite happy for him!

Sad to see Rossi going away, definitely end of an era...

No Suzuka this year. :wtc: Shame Honda won't get the opportunity to do a proper home send-off.

Absolutely crazy ending to the 24 of LeMans...

Kubica can't catch a break... leading the last few hours of LMP2 and his car dies on the last lap... team went from a 1-2 LMP2 win, to a 1st and DNF...

And on top of that, the LMP2 cars were battling it out to the finish line and almost ran over the flagger... insanity...

2 cool videos from this weekend

Side by side showing Williams probably running a lot more downforce than Mercedes helping Russel get 2nd on the grid (but amazing lap from Russel regardless)

Alonso POV, but not the famous one from dry practice, wet practice

Mazespin with the fastest lap.

I'm surprised no one in the top 10 thought of a way to grab fastest lap.

If you read the results without any context, Spa would be race of the year

Just bizarre. Really glad this didn't happen on any of the races of attended, though that last Montreal race certainly did come close.

I can recall IMS the year we watched 6 cars race. At least we got a refund and I didn't need hotel or plane tickets to attend the event.

...and we got a refund!

That Montreal race was nutso...  If it hadn't seen so damn cold, I wouldn't have minded waiting, but ohhh well, we ended up watching the ending in a bar close to where we were staying.

I was also at the Indy race in 2005, I don't think we got a refund, but we did get free tickets to the 2006 race...

Has Russel's Sunday form been enough to justify the second best seat on the grid?

He single handily put Alfa out of the running for 8th in the championship....

In seriousness... he's in a Williams. Considering where he's qualifying with the thing, and how he pretty much almost won with the 2 major issues of tires during his Merc run, coming back from back or mid-field, I think he's got it in him. Is he one of my favorites, not really, but nothing against him either... but he's the guy that you always talk about "if he only had a better car, he'd be a front runner".

I thought it was funny that Latifi had 3 points more than Russel until last week.

Even in Spa Latifi bagged a point.

Williams is definitely 8th in the chip on merit. The car is way faster than the Haas and on par if not better than the Alfa at this point in the season.

This track looks pretty crazy... basically a rollercoaster, so many turns :run:

Wonder how passing is going to be.
