Demanding a driver never lose control is demanding drivers not to drive at the limits...and who wants to see that?

There should have been no penalty. You can't have the sport re-writing rules and spending billions to increase passing on one hand, then penalize people for trying to pass but failing on the other. This is profoundly retarded hypocrisy.
They need to give him a free pass next time he has a drive through, cause that drive through cost him points...

With that logic then Schumi shouldn't have been penalised TEN SPOTS, or at all, for the Hungary incident since...nothing happened.
There's a big difference between a dangerous block and a botched passing attempt....
Not to mention, Michael was in full control of his car the whole time, where as Seb lost control of his car. I'm quite certain he would have avoided hitting Button, if he still had control of his car. It's not like Seb tried to punt Button out of the race, he was just trying to get around a slower car.

Seb should be excluded from the championchip for reckless driving.
That's like saying Schumacher and Senna should not be multiple world champions for reckless driving....

Suzuka 1990 comes to mind. That's like saying Schumacher and Senna should not be multiple world champions for reckless driving....

Both should have one less chip, 1990 and 1994.

they've both driven like that their entire careers, take one championship way from each hardly justifies it if we're going by that argument.
I stand by my point that Vettel should not be penalized anymore than these multiple "champions" were. It's just double standards, Senna does it, and he's brilliant and tactical, Schumacher tried it on Hill, got DQ'ed.
Now you are calling for Vettel to be DQ from the champion for reckless driving? Well in that case, shouldn't Alonso be excluded from this yrs championship too for his move on Massa into the pits earlier? What's next? DQ webber for his failed passing move on Kovalainen? I got a even better idea, DQ Hamilton for his stunt on the road back in Australia. Coz if you want to talk dangerous driving, whilst everyone else's moves were on a sanctioned race track, Hamiltons was on a public road. If the FIA are gonna make examples of drivers against dangerous driving, they should have started with Hamilton. And if we're gonna start forcing drivers to take it down a notch, then we should just give the championship to the driver with best car and the smallest balls in F1.

Nothing reckless or even dangerous about the Alo/Mas move in China, everyone just thought it was a dick move even though he passed him on the straight and just kept his line into the pits.
About the double standards, well maybe we shouldn't have such stringent safety regs cause back in the day it was seen as ok that you were driving a flammable death trap.
I was joking about DQing skittle, but his wheel to wheel racing this season has been bullshit, no other word to describe it so a punishment is 100% justified.

Simple. He shouldn't have been given the 10 spot penalty.
Also Monaco 2008. Kimi, Sutil - there's your precedent. Kimi punts off Sutil without any penalty in the exact same manner as Vettel.

who was that announcer when they showed F1 on FOX that kept on saying that passing shouldn't be allowed because it was so dangerous... I he said that a couple of times before they finally took him off the air after a handful of races..
we're going racing! but no passing is allowed

I felt way worse for Sutil just because it would have been his and Force India's best result ever at that point.Simple. He shouldn't have been given the 10 spot penalty.

Doing something that your supposed to do to win, but puts other opponents at risk, is part of sport. Sometimes those risks you take to win backfire, it doesn't necessitate punishment.

Losing control for a pass IMO shouldn't be a penalty. Driving wrecklessly should be. Should Senna & MS won some of their championships? No, they should have been stripped of it.

lol, if we can't even find a middle ground to what is fair and what is not, how do you guys expect the stewards to dish out fair punishment?

Nuh, out of the points but not out of the race.
